Q  How long until I am notified if my application is successful?

The Board consider applications for registration at the monthly meeting, traditionally held on the first Monday of each month. You will be advised of the outcome of your application within one week of the Board's decision.

Painters

Q  I am required to erect a sign at each job in progress, what information should it show?

The sign should be of reasonable dimensions showing clearly:

•  The registered name of the painter (individual, partnership or company)
• The registered number
• The name and registered number of the nominated supervisor for a partnership or company must also be shown

Q  I would like to place an advert in the Newspaper, does it have to show my registration  number?
Yes, the Painters' Registration Act 1961 requires that the registered name and number of the registered painter appears in any published advertisement.

Q Will our business/trading name appear on the Register of Painters?

The register will show the name of the individual, partnership or company that is registered.  This does not include other business names that the entity may trade as.  Business names can be searched on the Business Names register.
